Sebastian Ceolin

Sebastian Ceolin is a Canadian Industrial Designer and Fine Artist based in New York City. Having lived in Shanghai and Singapore his whole life he brings a international perspective into his design work incorporating influences from all over the world. His work focuses on the use of unconventional materials and processes to create products. His passions range from curating photography auctions for Blue Dragon Children's Foundation in Vietnam to playing competitive soccer at the youth World Cup in Gothenburg Sweden and everything in-between.

As a young emerging designer he understands the importance of sustainability and environmentally conscious design decisions in the anthropocene we find ourselves living in today and aims to have all the products he designs help contribute to living in a cleaner and more sustainable world.

• IMG provides custom design and manufacturing for global clients including L’Oreal, Clinique, Sephora, Shoppers Drug Mart, Sony, Puma, DKNY, Holt Renfrew, Levi’s, Tom Ford, Ralph Lauren, etc.

• As a junior industrial designer, I am working in material detailing and fabrication in metal, plastics, glass, wood. Along with aiding in the redesigning of products for increased sustainability and manufacturing efficiency.

B+H Advanced Strategy, Seattle, WA July 2022 – December 2022

Experiential Design

Creating immersive physical and virtual experiences, including environmental graphics, signage, wayfinding, and interactive art installations based on client goals, visions, and values as junior member of the design team.

• Currently executing the planning, design, and presentation of a permanent living story exhibit for First Nations in Canada the Metis Crossing Cultural Immersion Center, together with biomimicry practice; includes the design of a
gateway/meeting point for the exhibit entry and multiple AR stations composed of an interactive mobile app showing
graphic overlays in the landscape.

• Managing the design process from concept and creation to test printing and manufacturing featuring environmental
graphics for Amazon and Amazon Web Services; interacted directly with the client group on multiple presentations and iterations based on feedback.

Kline Design, Toronto, ON April 2021 – September 2021

Specialty Fabrication Design

Provided research and design support including CAD modeling (SolidWorks), manufacturing drawings (SolidWorks) and rendering (KeyShot), and manufacturing management. Produced graphic design and iterative concepts, and design and modeling for specialty fabrication design projects.

• Designed and developed interactive display cases featuring a touch screen interface and hydraulic piston mechanics, allowing for a range of product to be displayed, including CAD modelling, electronics, and engineering.

• Created a balance pad for athletic training, managing the design from concept to product and sourcing materials and
manufacturers for production.

Global Furniture Canada, Toronto, ON June 2020 – September 2020

Furniture Design Intern

Conducted market research and cost analysis for the gaming sector, a newly targeted market for the company. Performed concept development and iteration as well as digital prototyping.

• Designed a new gaming chair from concept through iterative phases and testing ergonomics and mechanical
functions for its specific task use for presentation to the team, leading to approval for the chair for prototyping and testing.

Graphic Design + Rendering Intern

Developed digital and print graphic design content. Created product and environment rendering.

• Built a proposal for a nation-wide recycling campaign for Coca-Cola including the design and development of furniture from recycled plastics.

• Formulated digital graphics for social media campaigns such as the Canadian Chamber of Commerce Shanghai, CN
Rail, and Telefilm Canada.

Graphic Design Intern

Facilitated proposal production by creating the title and visual elements embedded within proposal documents. Produced designs for digital and large-scale print for the internal rebranding of the company.

• Spearheaded the creation of a 150+ page marketing book, including past company projects and highlights; assembled all images and developed the graphic style and layout in InDesign.

• Contributed to the graphic elements of multiple proposals.

Planned and executed product launch events, fashion shows, and internal marketing events. Provided event management support including stage management, audio selection, and event planning and preparation.

• Developed graphics and set design for the Product Rollout Sales Event for the Greater China Sales Team and the 2016 Summer Olympics.
